History
In 1979, Yunnan University opened the undergraduate major of enterprise management, becoming one of the first universities to offer such educational courses since China's reform and opening-up.
The School of Business Administration and Tourism Management was established in 1999, integrating the university's advantageous disciplines on enterprise management, tourism management and financial management.
Goals
Focusing on teaching reform and emphasizing learning of subject content, the school has systematically improved its faculty curriculum system, teaching content and experimental conditions.
In addition, the school is striving to become an important training base for business administration talents in southwest China.
Majors
The school has the power to award undergraduate degrees in seven disciplines: business administration, tourism management, financial management, e-commerce, logistics management, cultural industry management and human resource management.
It also offers a first-level master’s degree in business administration (including specialties of business management, tourism management, accounting and technology economy and management); a master's degrees in business administration (MBA) and an advanced MBA (EMBA); a master's degree in tourism management (MTA), a on-the-job taining programon tourism management for secondary vocational school teachers and an on-the-job study program for secondary vocational school teachers which includes tourism management, enterprise management and accounting; doctoral degrees in business management including business management, tourism management, accounting and technology economy and management.
Yunnan University is currently the only EMBA training base and the most advanced business management degree-granting university in the province.
International
The school works closely with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management.
At the same time, the school has always maintained academic and student exchanges with other universities, including the Institute of Technology in Sydney, Australia, the University of Illinois and the University of California in the United States, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and other leading universities at home and abroad.
