I Brief Introduction

Yunnan University Library consists of two parts, Donglu library and Chenggong library. The library covers a total area of 75,375 square meters, of which the Donglu library has a floor area of 17,375 sq m, and the Chenggong library, 58,000 sq m. 

By 2014, the school had a total of more than 3 million books (including 2,766,592 books in the library and 242,018 books in reference rooms). The amount of books and new books that were borrowed surpassed the undergraduate teaching evaluation standard of the Ministry of Education. 

The largest segments of books were from the fields of bio-ecology, history, ethnology and local ethnic literature.  170,170 ancient thread-bound editions and more than 2,000 newspapers from the Minguo period (1912-1949) are the main treasures of the library.

The library also has 841,130 electronic books, and more than 100 Chinese and foreign databases.

Chenggong Library

8:30 -22:30  Monday to Thursday

8:30 -22:30  Saturday to Sunday

8:30 -12:00  Friday

III Circulation Policies

1. The maximum number of books that can be borrowed at a time are 15 copies for the students.

2. The limit on number is 15 copies for Chinese books, 2 copies for foreign language books and 1 copy for dissertations. Each book can be borrowed for 1 month at most.

3. The maximum number of books that can be borrowed at a time are 20 copies for the faculty and staff.

4. The limit on number is 20 copies for Chinese books, 20 copies for foreign language books and 1 copy for dissertations. Each book can be borrowed for 3 months at most.

IV Applying for Library Card

International students can apply for the library card. The schools recruiting the international students can apply for the library cards for the students at the library office. The office handles all applications.
