Huawei and YNU discuss partnership

Representatives from Huawei Technologies Co visited Yunnan University (YNU) to discuss the future direction of their partnership, on Jan 24.

The meeting was attended by Lin Wenxun, president of YNU; Ding Zhongtao vice-president of YNU, and representatives from Huawei.

Lin informed the visitors of the university's current standing in the fields of software, information and minority languages, as well as how the campus is becoming more information-based.

He went on to express his determination to strengthen YNU's efforts in students' training in the aforementioned disciplines. He also hoped that their partnership with Huawei could be strengthened and developed further, providing mutual benefits.

Ding recognized the achievements both parties had made in scientific research and personnel training. He expressed his hopes in building YNU into a distinguished university with strengths in the fields of software and information.

Huawei representatives provided a brief overview of recent developments in the company and the achievements it has made in software development, high-performance operations and minority language editing. They also wished to witness the profound exchanges and cooperative efforts that the partnership with YNU would bring in the future.

The two sides discussed more specific details of the partnership and how they would be going forward in the following session of the meeting.
