The Qidi School of Business at Yunnan University (YNU) founded an aviation management training program for students who intend to work in the aviation industry after graduation, at a ceremony held on Dec 22.

The university’s new training program will be run in conjunction with several leading airlines that will act as partners, and expects to train around 100 students at a time.

The ceremony was attended by Li Yinglin, vice-president of Yunnan Airport Group; Zhao Canhu, director of the human resource department of Kunming Changshui International Airport; Liu Xiaojiang, vice-president of YNU; Chen Shanjiang, deputy director of YNU’s office to promote the Double First-rate Program; Tian Weimin, executive dean of YNU Qidi School of Business and Gao He, vice-dean of the business school.

Teachers working on the program are all executives working at Yunnan Airport Group and Kunming Changshui International Airport. During the program, participants will learn expertise in the different fields of the industry, civil aviation safety, the operation and management of airlines, air security and career planning for air crew. Students will attend lectures, visit airline companies and train on a flight simulator.

Li Yinglin delivered a lecture on the development of Yunnan’s civil aviation industry.

Training professional aviation executives is crucial to developing the civil aviation industry in Yunnan province. The program has enabled participants to meet with experienced managers from civil airlines in the context of a lack of aviation management professionals in Yunnan province.

Students who manage to complete the training program will receive credits and a certificate.
