Ke Bingsheng, former president of China Agricultural University (CAU), gave a lecture at Yunnan University (YNU) on developing academic disciplines and training professional workers for the modern economy, on Dec 24.
Yang Lin, Party secretary of YNU; Lin Wenxun, president of YNU; Li Jianyu, deputy Party secretary of YNU, and other executives from YNU attended the lecture.
During his talk, Ke promoted the government’s Double First-rate program, a program to develop an elite group of Chinese universities, and highlighted the standards a university needs to meet to be included in the program.
Citing the development of China Agricultural University as an example, Ke proposed fresh ideas for developing a discipline that is competitive at an international level.
