Renowned journal reports YNU paleontology finding

A research finding by academics at Yunnan University (YNU) in the field of paleontology was reported online by Current Biology, a renowned journal affiliated with the Cell Press, on Dec 27. 

The paper, titled “Three-dimensionally preserved appendages in an early Cambrian stem-group pancrustacean”, was written by Zhai Dayou, deputy researcher at YNU’s Yunnan Key Laboratory for Paleontology and the laboratory’s researchers Liu Yu and Hou Xianguang; Doctor Javier Ortega-Hernández of the University of Cambridge; Doctor Joanna Wolfe of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as Cao Chunjie, engineer at Carl Zeiss AG. 

Zhai Dayou is listed as the first author and Liu Yu as a corresponding author. 

The research study won financial support from the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Yunnan Department of Science and Technology.
