A new research finding by a chemistry research team at Yunnan University (YNU) was reported online by Angew Chem, a top international journal in the field of chemical sciences, on Feb 11.

Under the guidance of Shao Zhihui, a professor working at the Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry for Natural Resource at YNU, who is also the correspondence author of the paper, Li Long, a doctoral candidate and Luo Pengfei, a student studying on a master’s degree program, jointly completed the research.

The finding represents major progress in the synthesis research of chiral catalysis and chiral natural products. And it is the fifth time that the team led by Shao Zhihui has published a new finding in the top chemistry journal.

The research received financial support from the Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education and other provincial research programs.
