A student from Yunnan University (YNU)'s voluntary group for education support attended a program at a training camp in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei province, from March 18 to 21.
Li Siyuan, leader of YNU’s education-assistance group for graduate students, took part in the program designed for leaders of voluntary education groups formed by graduate students at Chinese universities.
The program was organized by the Office of National Program for Developing the West and the Guidance Center for Young Volunteers of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, attracting 267 team leaders from voluntary groups at 192 universities and colleges.
The training program included lectures, sharing sessions, group activities and training focused on improving teaching standards. On behalf of YNU’s education support group for graduate students, Li shared with attendees some of their volunteering experiences and achievements.
Since July 2013, a total of 34 graduate students from YNU have visited under-developed areas in Yunnan province to support local education.
