The 14th Yunnan University (YNU) Girls’ Festival started on April 22. The opening day was marked by an evening gala.
The event was organized by the university’s School of Mathematics and Statistics. Chen Huaxian, deputy Party secretary of YNU, attended the gala along with other representatives.
The YNU Girls’ Festival began in April 2006 and included a series of activities to support female college students and provide them opportunities to showcase their talents.
In 2015, the activity was recognized by the Yunnan provincial education authority.
This year’s girls’ festival is one week long and consists of 11 types of activities.
During the gala, which featured artistic performances, an award ceremony was also held to honor the winners of the “most beautiful girl” contest.
After a week of talent competitions, eight girls from the university’s School of Chemistry and Engineering, School of Law, and School of Mathematics and Statistics won the title of “most beautiful girl”.
