YNU delegation visits Fengqing county for poverty-relief research

A seven-member delegation from the School of Architecture and Planning of Yunnan University (YNU) visited Fengqing county, Lincang city, Yunnan province, from April 25 to 28 as part of the university’s poverty-relief program. 

The delegation was led by Zhang Jun, dean of the School of Architecture and Planning. The purpose of the visit was to investigate local conditions to help develop a program to improve the quality of life in Fengqing county. 

During their visit to Lushi town, the research team collected information about the town through aerial photography, interviews, and field research. 

The local government also entrusted the team with the responsibility of formulating a plan to renovate an ancient building in the town. 

During the team’s stay in Hebian village, they met with village officials and offered them books on how to improve the living environment in rural areas. 

Following the meeting, the delegation conducted a field survey of the village to find ways of improving the living environment for locals.

The team also attended a meeting on urban planning with representatives from the Fengqing Development and Reform Commission and the local Bureau of Municipal Construction.

At the meeting, YNU representatives shared their insights into urban planning and proposed various ways of improving the local living environment in Fengqing county.

The delegation also visited some low-income residents and gifted them with some daily necessities.
