The Yunnan University (YNU) Hospital offered a training course for doctors from Lushi town, Lincang city, Yunnan province, on May 16, via a remote medical system. The course was part of YNU’s poverty alleviation program.
The remote medical system was developed by a research team led by Zheng Jialiang from YNU’s School of Physics and Astronomy.
Doctors from village clinics in Lushi town received training from Sun Jinhua, a doctor at the YNU Hospital. Her lecture focused on the prevention and treatment of high blood pressure.
According to officials at the YNU Hospital, remote medical training greatly reduces labor and time expenses.
The training program will hold one session a week, and has already been ongoing for quite some time.
In the future, the hospital hopes to provide even more training to doctors in underdeveloped areas, according to hospital officials.
