The 2nd Belt and Road National Education Summit commenced on May 26 in Fuzhou city, Fujian province.
The summit was sponsored by the China Association of Higher Education and organized by the Affiliated Institute on the Belt and Road of the China Association of Higher Education, YNU, and Fujian Normal University.
The summit was themed around the Belt and Road and establishing think tanks at universities, and a number of well-known experts were invited to share their insights into how universities can contribute to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Guan Junpei, vice-president of the China Association of Higher Education, Yang Lin, president of the Affiliated Institute on the Belt and Road, Deng Chaohui, vice-president of Xiamen University, and Ye Shen, deputy Party secretary of Fujian Normal University, delivered speeches during the ceremony, which was chaired by Wang Minzheng, secretary-general of the Affiliated Institute of the Belt and Road,
Following the speech, a number of scholars delivered reports on studies of the Belt and Road. Scholars included Zhai Kun, vice-dean of the Institute of Area Studies at Peking University, Huang Renwei, vice-dean of the Institute on the Belt and Road & Global Governance at Fudan University, Shi Zhiqin, executive dean of the Belt and Road Institute at Tsinghua University, Zhou Guping, dean of the Center for Regional Coordination and Development at Zhejiang University, and Huang Maoxing, dean of the School of Economics at Fujian Normal University.
