Israeli academic gives lecture at YNU

Yisrael Ne’eman, an Israeli historian and political analyst, delivered a lecture to master’s students at the Institute of International Relations of Yunnan University (YNU) on May 21.

Professor Ne’eman’s lecture focused on topics like Jihad, the Muslim Brotherhood, extremism, and extremist groups. 

In his lecture, he discussed how al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the Muslim Brotherhood had formed and evolved, and analyzed the current situations in Iraq and Syria. 

He also shared his insights into the Arab-Israeli conflict and Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

On the afternoon of May 21, the YNU Institute of International Relations held a meeting attended by Professor Xiao Xian, an expert on the Middle East and Israel, as well as a number of other teachers and students.

Professors Xiao and Ne’eman offered each other books as gifts and discussed hot issues related to the Middle East and China-Israel relations. 

Yisrael Ne’eman is a historian and political analyst focusing on the development of the Israeli State and the Arab Muslim Middle East. He received a BA in Middle Eastern studies from Rutgers University and completed an MA in Modern Jewish History at the University of Haifa. His areas of specialization include the Middle East Conflict, Jewish History, and Israeli/Zionist Ideologies.

Over the years, Yisrael has given a number of lectures and seminars abroad, usually focusing on Arab-Israel relations and the rise of Jihadi fundamentalism in the Middle East. He has published a book entitled Hamas Jihad: Antisemitism, Islamic World Conquest and Manipulation of Palestinian Nationalism.
