Yunnan University promotes AIDS awareness among students

A roadshow of a national campaign promoting prevention of AIDS among college students was staged at Yunnan University (YNU) June 3.

Pu Cunxin, an AIDS-prevention promotion ambassador, and Li Huiqin and Jia Manhong, both AIDS-prevention experts, attended the event.

A discussion between them was held to help the audience learn more about AIDS, including how the disease is transmitted and how it can be prevented. 

Sponsored by the Chinese Association of STD and AIDS Prevention and Control, the Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and China’s Health Education Center, the event was hosted by the Yunnan AIDS Prevention Bureau and YNU. 

More than 1,200 audience members, including officials, faculty members and students, attended the event. 

Following the talk, an artistic show promoting prevention of AIDS was performed. 

The roadshow has been staged in over 80 Chinese universities[MOU1] , involving more than 80,000 college students.
