A delegation from India’s Visva-Bharati University visited Yunnan University (YNU) on June 18 to negotiate a partnership on June 18.
The visiting delegation was led by the Indian university’s vice-chancellor Bidyut Chakrabarty. Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU, Li Chenyang, vice-president of YNU, and other YNU representatives met with the delegation.
Chakrabarty said that Visva-Bharati University has conducted a lot of research on Chinese history and culture. He expressed hope that both parties would strengthen cooperation in culture, language, and management and jointly hold international workshops and seminars.
He extended an invitation to Lin and other YNU scholars to come visit his university.
Lin thanked Chakrabarty for his invitation and said that both YNU and Visva-Bharati University contributed a lot to cultural exchanges between China and India.
There are a lot of research topics that interest both universities, and we could enhance our partnership by conducting research in these areas, he added.
