YNU holds forum on archival studies

The Sixth National Archival Studies Forum for Young Scholars was held by the School of History and Archives at Yunnan University (YNU) on June 22. 

The forum focuses on the development of archival work in the context of institutional reforms. 

The event brought together a number of well-known Chinese experts in archival studies from universities and institutions such as the Chinese Society of Archives, Renmin University of China, YNU, Yunnan Archives Bureau, Shanghai University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. 

Li Chenyang, vice-president of YNU; Liu Haiyan, deputy director of Yunnan Archives Bureau, and Zhang Bin, vice-chairman of the Chinese Society of Archives, addressed the opening ceremony.

Following their speeches, several scholars and experts delivered reports on their recent findings in the field of archival studies. 

During the discussion, 18 experts shared their insights into three aspects regarding the development of archival studies: the development of China’s archival work and institutional reforms, archive management and service, and the training of professionals. 

The host university for the next National Archival Studies Forum for Young Scholars will be Sichuan University.
