Yunnan University (YNU) hosted an international forum on global change, biodiversity, and ecological forecasting from June 27 to 30.
The forum was sponsored by YNU, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, and the Asian Ecology Section of the Ecological Society of America (ESA-AES) and organized by YNU’s School of Ecology and the Environment and the Yunnan Provincial Key Laboratory for Plateau Mountain Ecology and Ecological Restoration.
The event brought together more than 170 ecology experts, including some well-known names such as Chen Jingming, member of the Canadian Royal College of Sciences, Wang Yanfen, executive vice-president of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Luo Yiqi, former president of ESA-AES, and Peng Changhui, lifetime professor at the University of Quebec, among others.
Attendees discussed various trending topics related to ecology, biodiversity, and ecological forecasting.
Faculty from YNU’s ecology, environmental sciences, and geography departments also took part in the event.
