The School of Mathematics and Statistics at Yunnan University (YNU) hosted the second National Conference on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, from July 6 to 7.
The conference was sponsored by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM), and was hosted by the CSIAM Specialized Committee for Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, the China Computer Federation (CCF) Committee for Big Data and YNU’s School of Mathematics and Statistics.
The conference brought together more than 800 academics and experts to discuss the trending topics centering on big data and artificial intelligence.
At the opening ceremony, Xu Bin, vice-chairman of the Yunnan Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Xu Zongben, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Li, vice-president of YNU, Yan Guiying, secretary-general of CSIAM, addressed and inaugurated the conference.
Following the opening ceremony, Gao Wen, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ma Zhiming, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fan Jianqing, academic of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Tieyan, vice-dean of the Microsoft Research Asia, Zhu Jun, professor of the Department of Computer at Tsinghua University, and Dong Bin, associate professor at the International Research Institute for Mathematics, delivered reports on their recent research.
The conference also included 16 group discussions and two forums for students, covering various research interests of big data and artificial intelligence.
