Yunnan University (YNU) students were recognized with 15 awards at the 10th Challenge Cup Yunnan College Students’ Extracurricular Science and Technology Festival, according to a recent announcement by the festival’s organizing committee.
The festival was organized by the Yunnan Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Work Committee for Yunnan Universities under the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Yunnan Association for Science and Technology, the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, the Yunnan Students Federation, and China Mobile (Yunnan).
The contest received 360 entries from more than 1,500 students from 33 universities and colleges throughout Yunnan province.
YNU earned four special awards, five first-class awards, three second-class awards, one third-class award, and two excellence awards.
Contest entries from YNU focused on topics such as concentration training for children, the development of Western non-governmental organizations in Myanmar, juvenile legal punishment, and more.
The Challenge Cup National Extracurricular Science Contest is considered the most important scientific innovation contest for college students in China. It is sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, and the All-China Students’ Federation and co-hosted by a number of Chinese elite universities and reputable media organizations.
