A delegation from the Ministry of Education visited Yunnan University (YNU) on July 13 to learn about progress on its Double First-Rate Program, a national initiative to develop world-class universities and disciplines.
Zhu Huashan, deputy director of the Yunnan Education Authority, Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU, Li Jianyu, deputy Party secretary of YNU, and other vice-presidents of the university, attended the meeting with the delegation, which was led by Hong Dayong, director of the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduates at the Ministry of Education.
During the meeting, Lin delivered a report on the achievements and difficulties faced by YNU’s Double First-Rate Program.
Hong praised the achievements of the Double First-Rate Program at YNU, and urged university leaders to make more efforts to tackle problems arising from the development of the program.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory for the Conservation and Utilization of Bio-Resources in Yunnan and YNU’s Museum of Anthropology.
