A delegation led by Zhu Mei, vice-mayor of Lincang city, Yunnan province, visited Yunnan University (YNU) on Aug 21 to discuss a stronger partnership.
Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU, and Fang Jingyun, president of YNU, met with the delegation.
During the meeting, Zhu said that Lincang city had received approval from the Chinese government to serve as the demonstration area for the national sustainable development plan, and would serve as an example for developing less-developed areas with various minority groups.
She expressed hope that YNU would make use of its strength in training and scientific research to promote the development of the demonstration area.
Fang said that it was YNU’s duty to help promote regional development. Lin also vowed that YNU would help build a brighter future for Lincang city.
