YNU appoints former ambassador as visiting fellow

Yunnan University (YNU) appointed Ye Dabo, China’s former ambassador to Myanmar, as the honorary director and visiting researcher of its Center for China’s Neighbor Diplomacy. A ceremony was held to mark the occasion in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, on Aug 23.

Li Chenyang, vice-president of YNU, awarded Ye with a letter of appointment signed by YNU President Fang Jingyun.

Ye, now a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), used to serve as China’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Dominica, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Myanmar.

Lu Guangsheng, chief expert at the Center for China’s Neighbor Diplomacy, and other researchers at the center, attended the ceremony and participated in a meeting afterwards.
