Yunnan University delegation visits India, Myanmar and Nepal

A delegation from Yunnan University (YNU) visited universities and think tanks in India, Myanmar, and Nepal from Aug 7 to 16 to discuss cooperation.

The YNU delegation consisted of Li Chenyang, vice-president of YNU, Lu Guangsheng, vice-dean of the Institute of International Relations at YNU, and Liu Peng, deputy researcher at the Institute of Myanmar Studies.

They discussed cooperation with 10 universities and think thanks in the three countries on issues related to scientific research, hosting international conferences, and developing exchange programs.

During its stay in India, the YNU delegation visited Jawaharlal Nehru University, the Vivekananda International Foundation, the Indian Research and Information System for Developing Countries, the Observer Research Foundation in Calcutta, and the Indian Institute for Relations between Asia and the World. 

During the delegation’s visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University, it met with the university’s Vice-Chancellor Jagadesh Kumar and discussed a potential partnership in research and teaching, as well as student and faculty exchanges.

In Myanmar, the delegation visited the University of Yangon and the Myanmar Institute for International Strategies and Relations.

At the University of Yangon, delegates discussed strengthening their partnership with university executives. 

They also visited Huawei’s Myanmar branch for research purposes.

During their stay in Nepal, they visited Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, and the Research Center for China Studies.

They held a discussion with representatives from Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University and agreed to cooperate to train professionals in the Burmese language and conduct ecological research in Himalayan areas. 

The YNU representatives also delivered a lecture on China-Nepal relations at Tribhuvan University.
