Rousing patriotic speech contest staged at Yunnan University

A rousing and exciting speech contest was held at Yunnan University in Kunming, Yunnan's provincial capital, on Oct 25, according to the university reports.

The contest was the final of Yunnan province's "love our national defense" speech competitions –– launched in June this year and held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Officials from related provincial departments and representatives from Kunming's colleges and universities attended the event.

A total of 12 groups of contestants participated in the competition, holding forth on their understanding of heroism, their love for national defense, their gratitude to the Party and more.

The first, second, third prizes, and the outstanding organizations award were presented after the renditions.
