Sports culture festival concludes at Yunnan University

The 2019 sports culture festival at Yunnan University -- YNU -- was held on Nov 7- 9, according to university reports.

The three-day festival included track and field events, fun games and fire-fighting activities, attracting the participation of a large number of teachers and students.

The Sports Institute and the School of Economics (School of Accounting) both triumphed at the students' track and field events.

The School of Economics and the School of Journalism both came in overall first for their top march-in performances.

Officials said that a total of 57 athletes were conferred with the title of "excellent athletes".

The festival was held to improve students' fitness, enrich their lives, as well as raise teachers' and students' awareness and skills about fire safety and protection, the organizers said.
