YNU, Kunming Institute of Botany deepen partnership

A delegation from Yunnan University (YNU) led by its president, Fang Jingyun, visited the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences on Nov 22 to discuss cooperation.

Sun Hang, director of the institute, and Chen Jijun, its deputy director, welcomed the delegation and held a meeting with them, discussing cooperation in personnel training, scientific research, discipline development, and other areas.

Sun said at the meeting that YNU and the institute have established a long-term partnership, and hoped to deepen cooperation on construction of scientific research platforms and bases, personnel training, and research on plant diversity.

Fang thanked the institute for its long support, and hoped the two will deepen the partnership in research into biodiversity, to make contributions to the development of ecology in Yunnan province, and in China.

The two sides discussed co-building a biodiversity research institute at YNU.
