A delegation from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, led by its vice-president Luo Weidong, visited Yunnan University or YNU on Nov 26, to discuss further cooperation, according to university reports.

Fang Jingyun, president of YNU and Zhao Qihua, vice-president of YNU, together with directors of other departments, met the delegation from Hangzhou.

Fang said at the meeting that the two universities had established a long-term partnership, and Zhejiang University had offered a great deal of support to YNU's development, especially its "double first-class" construction –– developing itself into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.

Fang hoped that YNU would learn more from Zhejiang University in personnel training and improve its social services.

Luo said he expected that the two would expand further partnership and make more contributions to regional economic and social development.

The two universities signed a cooperation agreement at the meeting, under which they will deepen their cooperation in training undergraduates, share resources and construction training facilities, with a special focus on the discipline of ecology.

Before the meeting, the delegation also visited the Chenggong campus of YNU to get to know its developments in recent years.
