Fire drills held at YNU to raise safety awareness

The School of Information Science & Engineering at Yunnan University organized a fire drill on Nov 15, to help raise the safety awareness of students and teachers, according to university officials.

Under the guidance of the university's public security office, safety training in using electricity, in emergency evacuations and on fire drills was organized.

Participating teachers and students learned how to call the police in the correct way, how to put out a fire to save lives and property, how to evacuate people and how to save themselves in a fire.

The event was held to raise students and teachers' fire control awareness and improve their self-rescue abilities when faced with emergency situations, according to the organizers.
