A workshop for presidents of universities and colleges in Myanmar kicked off at the Donglu campus of Yunnan University in the city of Kunming in southern Yunnan province on Nov 28, according to YNU officials.
Dignitaries attending the opening ceremony for the event included 30 Myanmar university chiefs, Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU as well as Li Chenyang, vice-president of YNU and representatives from the Consulate General of Myanmar in Kunming.
Lin gave a briefing on YNU's "double first-class" development -- its efforts to build itself into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.
The Party secretary said that YNU was glad to cooperate with Myanmar universities and colleges in exchanges, scientific research and resource sharing. YNU will provide more scholarships for Myanmar students to study there, Lin added.
The Myanmar university heads from seven provinces will learn about university management, reforms of university management systems and more at YNU.
The presidents will also visit universities in Beijing and Shanghai.
