Yunnan University teachers, students receive awards

A scholarship and assistantship award ceremony, hosted by Yunnan University and Hongyunhonghe Group, was held at the Chenggong campus of YNU on Jan 3, according to university reports.

YNU vice-presidents Zhao Qihua, Liu Bo and Duan Hongyun, representatives from Hongyunhonghe Group, and teacher and student representatives attended the event.

Zhao gave a briefing on YNU's development in recent years and thanked the long-term support provided by Hongyunhonghe Group. Zhao said that the group's scholarship and assistantships for teachers and students at YNU reflected its social responsibilities.

Zhao urged the group and YNU to deepen their cooperation, in order to help more teachers and students.

Over the past decade, Hongyunhonghe Group has donated more than 18.2 million yuan ($2.62 million) to YNU, awarding and helping more than 2,900 teachers and students.

This year, 18 teachers won awards and 195 students got assistantships.
