YNU, Kaiyuan city establish closer links

A delegation from Yunnan University, led by its president Fang Jingyun, visited Kaiyuan city in southwestern Yunnan province on Jan 9 to seek cooperation, according to YNU officials.

Kong Jingsong, municipal Party secretary of Kaiyuan, welcomed the delegation and held a signing ceremony with the YNU delegation.

Fang said at the ceremony that YNU wanted cooperation with Kaiyuan city in such areas as the construction of field observation stations, scientific research and training professionals.

The president said that the two sides could integrate their resources to handle some difficulties that Kaiyuan city is faced with in its green development, so as to promote Yunnan's economic, social and ecological development.

Kong said that the cooperation was a great start for win-win development of the two sides.

The YNU delegation visited its laboratory in the city and an efficient, modern agricultural park before the signing ceremony.
