YNU students act in epidemic prevention, control

Updated: 2020-02-25

In the face of the prevention and control campaign against the novel coronavirus pneumonia, students from Yunnan University have been making their own special contributions, according to YNU officials.

Two students of YNU -- Liu Bulong and Li Yufan -- have been working as volunteers in the battle against the virus, YNU officials said.

Liu Bulong is from Huize in Qujing in Yunnan province and once served with the Chinese Armed Police Force, or CAPF. He is now working as a volunteer in Huize county.

Every day, Liu goes on patrol with community police officers, to hand out epidemic prevention and control leaflets to residents.

He also measures the body temperatures of locals and registers information of passing vehicles.

Liu said that as a CAPF veteran, he could not remain a spectator, feeling compelled to do everything in his power to help his country.

Li Yufan, from Chongqing, once served in the CAPF Border Defense Force. These days, he works with other volunteers to go out on patrols, promote knowledge of epidemic prevention and control and other tasks.

Li said that it was a chance to serve the people and as a veteran, he would go everywhere he was needed.
