An AI body temperature monitoring and early warning cloud platform was launched on Feb 15 at Yunnan University’s School of Software, by the Yunnan province university key laboratory of data science and intelligent computing, YNU officials announced.
Experts said that the project is of great importance for real-time monitoring of people and intelligent prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia.
The platform adopts technologies including AI and infrared thermal imaging.
It achieves online pedestrian flow monitoring and body temperature warnings and identification, so as to assist departments tracing people who have abnormal health conditions.
Officials said that the platform has completed its initial version and will be improved to make it ready to serve hospitals across the country.
YNU officials said the laboratory relies on the School of Software at Yunnan University, with 15 core team members.
The lab focuses on four basic research directions, officials added.
These are data science and engineering, machine learning, cognitive computing and intelligent software engineering – while pursuing four technological applications: intelligent healthcare, intelligent transportation, smart grids and smart agriculture.
