The Yunnan University Alumni Association in Qingdao was established in Qingdao city, in East China’s Shandong province on June 15, 2019.
Attendees at the ceremony included alumni of YNU in Qingdao, Jinan, Yantai and other places in Shandong province and representatives from YNU and the university’s general alumni association.
Li Jianyu, deputy secretary of the YNU Party committee, addressed the ceremony and talked about YNU’s developments and achievements in recent years.
Li raised set a challenge for the new alumni association in four aspects: paying high attention to alumni work, improving the association’s operations mechanism, optimizing services and strengthening networking of alumni for YNU’s development.
Li urged the Qingdao alumni association to innovate development modes and boost YNU’s “double first-class” goal -- to develop it into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.
The appointments of the new association’s first council, president, vice president and secretary-general were made on the day.
Pei Tianen, who was selected president of the Yunnan University Alumni Association in Qingdao, shared his learning experiences at YNU. He said that the association would promote exchanges in areas such as social services and cultural exchanges, to advance YNU’s development.
The Yunnan University Alumni General Association has been cooperating with associations in various regions in communications, social services and other aspects.
It is also promoting the establishment of alumni associations overseas.
