Yunnan University, hosted an online jobs fair for its summer graduates on March 10, under the instruction and arrangement of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Yunnan province, according to YNU reports.
A total of 485 employers from 24 provinces and cities -- including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Yunnan and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region -- participated in the job fair, offering more than 1,900 positions.
More than 7,000 YNU graduates registered for the online event.
Statistics showed that 70 percent of employers were state-owned enterprises, listed companies, public institutions, joint ventures, wholly foreign-owned enterprises, large private enterprises and social organizations.
YNU officials said that professionals in areas such as real estate, education, medicine, computer, software, electronics technology, the internet, e-commerce, and communications were in great demand.
Officials said that job seekers communicated with employers online and submitted more than 40,000 resumes. Some companies completed initial selections of resumes and video interviews, reaching preliminary agreement with students.
YNU officials said that in the face of the novel coronavirus, the university will promote online employment and management services, especially for those with difficulties finding a job.
