The program of logistics management at Yunnan University -- located in Southwest China’s Yunnan province -- was approved by the Ministry of Education.
It is being hosted by YNU and Thailand’s Chiang Mai University, or CMU.
Officials said it aims to introduce international high-quality educational resources. The training plan is being jointly developed by YNU and CMU and teaching will be conducted by teachers from both universities.
Training objectives: The program aims to teach and train innovative professionals. They will master systematic economics and management theories, as well as basic theory, methods and technologies of modern multinational logistics and supply chain system analysis.
Students will also master design, operations and management, especially the application of modern information technology in all aspects of logistics.
They will acquire knowledge of logistics operations methods in the production and the operational activities of enterprises -- so they can be engaged in supply chain design and the management, logistics systems optimization and operations management in companies, scientific research institutes and government departments, as well as master a foreign language.
Program system: “3+1” pattern and “4+0” pattern. Course length: four years.
“3+1” pattern: After studying at YNU for the first three years, students can voluntarily choose to go to CMU for another one year of undergraduate studies. Eligible students will receive a bachelor's degree in modern management and information technology from CMU. Students who have completed the prescribed content of YNU’s training program within the school's prescribed period of study -- and have passed the examinations and graduation requirements -- will be issued a bachelor's degree certificate in management.
“4+0” pattern: Students who study at YNU for four years and pass all training programs and meet the graduation requirements of the school of international studies of YNU, will be allowed to graduate and be issued a bachelor's degree.
Main courses: modern logistics management, structural analysis and design, knowledge management systems, computer networks and communications, logistics operations research, business operations models, supply chain and customer relationship management information systems, product lifecycle management information systems, supply chain management and logistics system planning.
