Representatives from Yunnan University and Fengqing county in Lincang city, in Southwest China's Yunnan province, joined a meeting at YNU on April 15 to discuss poverty alleviation in the county in 2020, according to university officials.

They said that Fengqing county is YNU's poverty alleviation object.

Attendees of the meeting included Lin Wenxun, Party committee secretary of YNU, Zhang Li, vice president of YNU, Tan Bo, head of Fengqing county and other officials from the two sides.

Tan outlined the poverty alleviation work being conducted in Fengqing county, expressing gratitude for YNU's long-term support of the county's poverty reduction program and praising  YNU student contributions to novel coronavirus prevention and control efforts in their hometown of Fengqing.

The county head then gave a briefing on the county's overall plans and program for poverty alleviation in the current year, seeking YNU's support in cadre training, sharing of teaching resources, sales of agricultural products in the campus and more.

YNU's Lin heard about the county's progress and asked questions about the current difficulties in rural revitalization -- promising that in 2020, the university will continue to support its poverty alleviation work and help the county out of poverty.
