Deepening their existing partnership was on the agenda of a delegation led by Bai Limin, vice president of Chinese tech giant Huawei, which visited Yunnan University in Southwest China's Yunnan province on April 16, according to YNU officials.

Lin Wenxun, Party committee secretary of YNU, together with representatives from other university departments, welcomed the visitors and held a meeting with the delegation, discussing expanding existing levels of cooperation.

Bai gave an outline of Huawei's development and history and current progress, as well as future cooperation plans with YNU.

He said that YNU had trained a large number of excellent graduates for the company and hoped that the two sides would deepen their cooperation in professional training, discipline setting, construction of a smart campus, and more areas, so as to make contributions to local economic development.

Bai, who is also vice president of Huawei University, said he hoped that YNU would offer guidance and help for his university in terms of campus development, schools and departments and other areas.

YNU's Lin said that Huawei has developed into a world-leading high-tech company in recent years and that the university would continue to train its professionals and support the company's growth. He added that he hoped the two sides would further their partnership in developing emerging industries and support Yunnan's industrial development.
