Online forum focuses on Belt and Road Initiative

An online forum on the opportunities and challenges of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) during the COVID-19 epidemic was held April 25.

The forum, held by the BRI branch of the China Association of Higher Education and organized by the BRI research institute of the Institute of International Relations of Yunnan University, was attended by more than 300 scholars from over 100 universities and research institutes in the country, including Peking University, Zhejiang University, Sichuan University, Nanjing University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and YNU.

It included four subforums: progress and measures of BRI projects under COVID-19, the current situation and countermeasures of public health undertakings of countries involved in the BRI, international higher education cooperation between countries involved in the BRI and China, and opportunities and challenges after the epidemic for countries involved in the BRI.

Attending scholars shared their opinions and suggestions about the topics during the online forum.
