A delegation from the Yunnan education, health, and science union on May 28 visited Yunnan University -- located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province -- to survey the work of the union there, according to YNU officials.

The delegation was led by Cui Jiazhou, president of the provincial union. Li Jianyu, deputy Party committee secretary of YNU, welcomed the delegation and held talks.

Li thanked the provincial union's long-term support for the YNU's union work and gave a briefing on the university's development over recent years and its measures for preventing and controlling the COVID-19 epidemic.

Li added that the union would take comprehensive measures to ensure teachers and students' health and safety and cooperate with other university departments in scientific research and technological innovation.

After listening to the report, Cui complemented the YNU union on its work in recent years and encouraged it to better its service for teachers and students, while expressing his support for YNU's "double first-class" development -- its efforts to build itself into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.

The delegation also visited the School of Law and the logistics department to get to know about the services offered to teachers and students, as well as to learn about their coronavirus epidemic prevention and control measures.
