Call for submissions: short videos and articles on 'My story of fighting COVID-19'

I. Background

The COVID-19 epidemic continues to spread globally and universities and colleges in many countries have taken measures to jointly fight the disease. Earlier, the secretariat of the South & Southeast Asian University Network (S&SE ASIAN UN) drafted and published the Statement of the South & Southeast Asian University Network on Joining Efforts in Fighting against COVID-19, and held the Webinar "Fighting against COVID-19 on Campus", which received positive responses from member universities. 

This activity aims to further unite all forces to battle the epidemic, boost the confidence of universities and showcase the optimistic spirit in the fight, so as to convey a positive social energy. As lots of staff and students have also engaged in the fight against COVID-19, this call is mainly to teachers and students for submissions of short videos or articles on the theme "My story of fighting COVID-19".

II. Introduction

1. Who can submit?

Teachers and students of member universities of the S&SE ASIAN UN

2. What can be submitted?

Short video: the submission should be a clear and no-vibration video of up to three minutes duration on MP4 format and the aspect ratio should be 4:3. The video should be in a horizontal screen form. If there is a voiceover or screen description, please add English subtitles. When submitting, you need to provide the name of the work and attach a brief description of the theme (with documents).

Short article: around 1,000 words.

3. Requirements

The topics of videos or articles should include but are not limited to the following:

(1) Anti-epidemic volunteer activities;

(2) Anti-epidemic stories of medical students or staff;

(3) Study during home quarantine;

(4) Teaching and scientific research activities during home quarantine;

(5) Difficulties and measures to cope with them;

The submitted video or article should be original without copyright dispute and participation means authorizing the organizer to use the video and article without compensation.

5. Submission

Email with the subject:

Teachers: "My story of fighting COVID-19" + name + department + university + country

Students: "My story of fighting COVID-19" + name + major + university + country

The video or article should be sent to the mailbox as an attachment: heting_ynu@yeah.net

III. Selection and Publications

The secretariat of the S&SE ASIAN UN will select five short videos and five articles based on the content, communicability and other aspects and then display on its social network. After the epidemic is over (October is scheduled, depending on the situation of the epidemic), the S&SE ASIAN UN will sponsor the top contestants to travel to Kunming to participate in the sharing session of "My story of fighting COVID-19" (free round-trip international air tickets, food and accommodation).
