A paper by Yunnan University liberal arts associate professor Li Haiying was published in the sixth issue of The Yangtze River Criticism in 2019 and was reprinted in the ninth issue of the prestigious Xinhua Digest in 2020, according to YNU officials.
The paper was themed on the reproduction of old poetry works and the construction of a knowledge system for contemporary Chinese poetry, officials said.
It focuses on the literary phenomenon of the "reproduction of old works" in Chinese contemporary poetry -- pointing out that this is a unique link in the development of a contemporary poetry knowledge system and analyzing the problems in establishment of such a system.
Officials said the paper marked a breakthrough in poetry research of the school and advanced YNU's "double first-class" development -- its efforts to build itself into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.
Xinhua Digest -- which was formerly published by the Communist Party of China in 1949 as the Xinhua Monthly News and then renamed Xinhua Digest in 1981 -- is a prestigious and authoritative literary journal in China.
