The School of Journalism at Yunnan University in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, held a special online graduation ceremony at its broadcast studio on June 12, according to school officials.
Attendees included Party committee secretary of the school Dou Zhimei, dean Liao Shengqing, radio and television department head Jin Qun and other officials and teachers.
A total of 25 graduates also attended the ceremony at the scene as representatives of the wider student body.
Officials said that the ceremony was livestreamed by video-sharing platform Bilibili, with the number of online participants exceeding 3,000.
The dean, Professor Liao Shengqing, issued a degree certificate to each graduate who attended the ceremony and offered them valuable suggestions: be grateful in life and work, be a responsible and capable person and remember that the school is always the home of its graduates.
On behalf of 32 teachers at the school, Jin Qun gave blessings to the students, wishing them the strength to meet their challenges and overcome their difficulties.
