A delegation from Pu'er University -- located in Pu'er, a prefecture-level city in Southwest China's Yunnan province -- visited Yunnan University in Kunming, Yunnan's provincial capital on July 8, to discuss further cooperation, according to YNU officials.
The delegation was led by Lu Ping, Party committee secretary of Pu'er university and Cheng Wenzhang, the university president. Lin Wenxun, Party committee secretary of YNU and Vice-presidents Yang Zeyu and Ding Zhongtao welcomed the delegation.
During the meeting, Lin gave a briefing on YNU's development in recent years, noting that the two universities had achieved fruitful cooperation in many areas. He called on them to deepen their partnership and make further contributions to education in Yunnan province.
Lu said at the meeting that YNU was an exemplar for universities in Yunnan province and had offered a great deal of support for Pu'er University's development. He also called for cooperation to be established in broader fields, to help the university seek rapid and high-quality growth.
Cheng gave a briefing on developments at Pu'er University in recent years and put forward ideas on how to further extend the partnership between the two sides.
