The AIT-BNU-Thai Pipe PhD Scholarship is being supported by the AIT-Beijing Normal University-Thai Pipe Industry. The candidates will be jointly trained by the Asian Institute of Technology, or AIT, as well as Beijing Normal University.
The AIT was founded in 1959 with the aim of promoting the education of advanced engineering in Asia. It has now developed into one of the largest international graduate schools in Asia funded by governments, international organizations, foundations, business organizations and individuals around the world.
I. Funding content
1. Tuition fees for 84 credits during the doctoral period studying Water Engineering and Management (WEM) and Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM) (equivalent to subsidizing full tuition);
2. Accommodation and living allowance during the study period in Beijing.
II. Eligibility
1. Outstanding new master's degree graduates and senior master's degree students, with new graduates preferred;
2. Master's grade point average, or GPA, above 3.5 out of 4.0;
3. Those in majors for civil engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering, or water-related applied sciences are preferred;
4. Students should be from Yunnan province or Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region;
5. Official English score: IELTS or AIT EET Score above 6.0;
6. Must fulfill AIT Admissions Requirements;
7. At least two publications in SCOPUS indexed journals.
III. Application
1. Email Chinese and English resumes to Teacher Duan at the office of international affairs of AIT, to danielleduan@ait.ac.th;
2. AIT will select candidates;
3. Selected candidates need to prepare the following materials:
(1) Application letter
(2) Project proposal (4 pages maximum) on water, wastewater and use of pipes
(3) Brief CV
(4) Certified copies of academic diplomas and certificates
(5) Two publications relevant to water-related research
(6) Names and contact information of at least two referees
