A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the Yunnan University (YNU) Institute of International Relations, the policy research office of the CPC Kunming Municipal Committee, and the foreign affairs office of the Kunming municipal people's government on Aug 6.
The century-old YNU has established a comprehensive research system related to countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, and has made fruitful research achievements in Chinese diplomacy with neighboring countries.
It is expected that the university-government cooperation will deepen the research into surrounding South Asia and Southeast countries, as well as contribute to Kunming's high-level cooperation with them.
The plaques for the YNU Institute of International Relations Student Internship Base and the Kunming South Asia & Southeast Asia Cooperation Research Center were unveiled on the same day.
