YNU School of Earth Sciences aids Hebian's poverty alleviation

A delegation led by Tan Shucheng, dean of the School of Earth Sciences of Yunnan University (YNU), visited Hebian village, Lushi town, Fengqing county, Lincang to assist in local poverty alleviation efforts.

The delegation visited the home of Li Chaomei and learned about the land utilization, work, life, and health of the elderly members of her family. Li expressed her gratitude for the YNU delegation's assistance, while the delegation members encouraged her to lift her family out of poverty through hard work.

At the Hebian village administrative committee, the delegation members talked with local officials to get a better understanding of Hebian's overall poverty alleviation situation, as well as the progress of their plans and the difficulties that have been encountered.

They also toured the Hebian Village Tea Factory and Hebian Village Primary School that YNU has been subsidizing. Tan made suggestions on the safety management of the tea factory and surrounding environment based on his expertise in geology.
