Notes for overseas students on applying for residence permit

I. Materials

1. Applicants should hold a valid X1/X2 visa or a study residence permit.

2. Fill out and submit the application form for foreigner's visa certificate (must be printed on both sides and have applicant's written signature).

3. Submit the original and copy of the passport's photo page, visa page, and entry seal page.

4. Submit the original and copy of the admission notice.

5. Submit the original health examination certificate and copies of page one to eight.

6. Submit the original and copy of the residence registration certificate for overseas personnel.

7. Submit a 3.5cm*5.3cm photo and a receipt of digital photo collection for visa of foreigners.

8. Submit the transfer certificate if you want to transfer to Yunnan University.

9. Fill out and submit the face to face registration form for foreigners' application for a residence permit (must be printed on both sides and signed in person) if you want to exchange a student visa for a residence permit.

II. Fees

Residence permit within one year: 400 yuan ($58)

Residence permit from one year to three years: 800 yuan

Resident permit from three years to five years: 1,000 yuan

III. Address of the exit-entry administration of the Kunming municipal public security bureau

3rd floor, No 118 Tuodong Road, Panlong district, Kunming

(Take bus A1/K3/1/62/109/117/145/213 and get off at Kunming Museum stop)
