Zhang Yuyan, head of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a lecture entitled Great Changes Unseen in Hundreds of Years and Relationships between Big Counties at Yunnan University (YNU) on Aug 10.
Zhang noted that research into Chinese foreign diplomacy should be at the service of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the common progress of mankind. He called upon the audience to discover problems in reality, find answers in history, be good at grasping principal contradictions, identify main variables, and find out the relationship between variables in their analysis of the subject.
In his lecture, Zhang analyzed the impact of internet technology to changes in world population structure, Chinese policies, the relative decline of the United States, and relationships between big countries, while answering relevant questions by YNU teachers and students.
