Yunnan University (YNU) held a seminar on medical discipline construction at its Chenggong campus on Aug 26, bringing together a number of experts to provide suggestions on the further development of the discipline. Zhao Qihua, vice president of YNU, presided over the seminar.
Attendees included Fang Jingyun, president of YNU, Chen Xiaoping, an academician of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Xu Chunlin, director of the health and family planning bureau of Kunming Airport New Area, Zhu Mingjun, assistant dean of Fuwai Yunnan Cardiovascular Hospital, as well as the heads of relevant functional departments and colleges of YNU and the relevant person in charge of the Second People's Hospital of Yunnan Province.
President Fang Jingyun noted in his speech at the seminar that the meeting is of great significance and expressed his hope that all the experts could provide insights for the development of the medical discipline of YNU. The university will implement the opinions and suggestions given by the experts in its future development and planning, he added.
After listening to the report of the relevant person in charge of the medical school on the foundation of YNU's medical construction and discipline development plan, the experts at the meeting discussed the issues of talent training, discipline construction, clinical medicine, as well as the rational distribution and utilization of medical resources, putting forward opinions and suggestions on the construction of the university's medical discipline.
